Professional Private Investigation & Enquiry Agents
COPI UK: Strengthening the Investigations Industry
Six months ago, the Confederation of Professional Investigators UK (COPI) was formed as a landmark initiative to unite the Private Investigation industry under a collective, ethical, and professional framework. This initiative brought together leading organisations, including the Institute of Professional Investigators (IPI), the World Association of Professional Investigators (WAPI), and the Professional Investigators Network (PIN)

It has latterly been joined by Ex Police in Industry and Commerce (EPIC) and Palatine (R&D Group Ltd)

At DPM Facts Ltd, we fully support COPI’s mission to raise professional standards, protect clients, and ensure ethical business practices. As a member of IPI, we are committed to the highest standards of integrity, discretion, and compliance in all investigations.

What COPI Has Achieved in Six Months
Since its launch, COPI has:

✅ Strengthened the industry’s commitment to ethical and professional standards.
✅ Reinforced a voluntary Code of Ethical Conduct across its member organisations.
✅ Ensured that reputable investigators operate within legal and ethical boundaries to protect clients and the public.
✅ Continued to welcome new industry trade groups with no membership fees or administrative charges

A Unified Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
All COPI UK stakeholder organisations and their members, including DPM Facts Ltd, are committed to a Joint Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, which ensures that investigators:

Operate with accountability, maintaining high ethical and legal standards with appropriate professional insurance.
Handle all client information with discretion, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and confirming that client requests are lawful.
Engage professionally and fairly, upholding Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles.
Maintain integrity, avoiding misrepresentation or misleading claims about services.
Stay competent and up-to-date, continuously improving professional knowledge and adhering to industry regulations.
Collaborate ethically, challenging and reporting any improper conduct among colleagues.
Commit to fair business practices, ensuring that no member practitioner is disadvantaged by unfair competition or unethical actions.

Why COPI Matters
For too long, the industry has operated in a fragmented way, making it harder to present a unified professional voice to government, media, and the public. COPI has already made strides in changing this, ensuring that ethical investigators can work with confidence and clarity while deterring those who fail to meet professional standards.

At DPM Facts Ltd, we are proud to align with this initiative, ensuring that our clients receive professional, ethical, and legally compliant investigative services.
